"He is not here, for He has risen as He said." - Matthew 28:6
I was able to bring some of our high school friends to church today. To think that these guys and girls would accept an invitation from their Young Life leader to join them at church on Easter seemed pretty significant to me last night. And it does today too. The church service started with baptisms, then worship, then teaching, then communion, followed by more worship. I love the message in it all.
Christ has cleansed us of our sin on the Cross, we are raised to new life, and will follow Him.
We respond to that new life with praise and thanksgiving.
We hear the Good News that He is no longer in that tomb. This changes everything.
We "do this in memory of Him" as we take his body, the epikoumen broken and hidden, and blood, the cup of redemption.
We sing again and raise our hands and clap in the joy of all that he have been reminded is true.
He is Risen!
He is Risen indeed!
