Jessica surprised Iris while she was serving her first of three weeks on Work Crew at Windy Gap in Weaverville, NC.
Iris could immediately see God's hand in her being there on the first day campers arrived. She was helping welcome campers and taking luggage to their rooms with the other Work Crew, when one camper was standing off by herself looking lost. The young girl had moved to the US from Honduras two weeks earlier and didn't speak any English. Iris speaks Spanish fluently and help explain to the girl what was happening and helped her to her room.
Pray for Iris as she is in her last week at Windy Gap!
Summer also is great time to spend with kids doing fun activities like playing pick up games, going swimming, cook outs, camp outs, going on walks, and stops at Sonic. We are always trying to earn the right to be heard in the lives of kids, and just because school is out doesn't mean that relational ministry is over.
However with the start of school just around the corner, pray for us as we begin to meet new kids and hopefully start Youngn Life in new schools!
